My Poor Friend Me : Frank Turner

I know a man
Who doesn't have many friends
I know a place he lives
Where trouble never ends
I know its hard for him
To read 'tween the lines
And his days are getting so much shorter
He simply turns away
And dons a bitter frown
His world is crumbling
His ship is weighted down
He doesn't care
As long as he can wear the crown
I know this man all too well
Its my poor friend me
A portrayal of the great dichotomy
(a reminder of a tragic history)
Its my poor friend me
And I'm running out of steam
I know there are people
Who are cynical and vain
They point their finger
'cuz they can't accept the blame
They live their lives
Under a blanket of shame and their progeny
Crawl from underneath it
Lately I've come
To see the solution
And it begins with me
But I'm so fallibly human
I've picked the lock
But will not turn the key

Of people running scared
We live, breathe and die
Off to a world, our time is slipping on by
We have solutions, but don't even try
And I feel I know just who to blame

The Song and Images featured in the Video are not mine in anyway and I do not claim to own the copyright or IP credits for either. Both are featured for non-commercial use.

The Postal service - Against all odds

Simply a great cover version:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6YJqCFOYPT4

How can I just let you walk away?
Just let you leave without a trace
When I stand here taking every breath with you (oooh-ooh)
You're the only one who really knew me at all

How can you just walk away from me
When all I can do is watch you leave
'Cause we've shared the laughter and the pain
And even shared the tears
You're the only one who really knew me at all

So take a look at me now
There's just an empty space
There's nothing left here to remind me
Just the memory of your face
Well take a look at me now
There's just an empty space
And you coming back to me is against the odds
And that's what I've got to face

I wish I could just make you turn around
Turn around and see me cry
There's so much I need to say to you
So many reasons why
You're the only one who really knew me at all

So take a look at me now
There's just an empty space
There's nothing left here to remind me
Just the memory of your face
Now take a look at me now
'Cause there's just an empty space
But to wait for you is all I can do
And that's what I've got to face
Take a look at me now
I'll just be standing here
And you coming back to me is against the odds
It's the chance I've got to face

Take a look at me now...

Such Great Heights By The Postal Service

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mXEq7WiINa4

I am thinking it's a sign that the freckles
In our eyes are mirror images and when
We kiss they're perfectly aligned
And I have to speculate that God himself
Did make us into corresponding shapes like
Puzzle pieces from the clay
True, it may seem like a stretch, but
Its thoughts like this that catch my troubled
Head when you're away when I am missing you to death
When you are out there on the road for
Several weeks of shows and when you scan
The radio, I hope this song will guide you home

They will see us waving from such great
Heights, 'come down now,' they'll say
But everything looks perfect from far away,
'come down now,' but we'll stay...

I tried my best to leave this all on your
Machine but the persistent beat it sounded
Thin upon listening
That frankly will not fly. you will hear
The shrillest highs and lowest lows with
The windows down when this is guiding you home

Kadwi Sachhai

A*****: tum kya kar rahi ho?

me: kuch nahi

2:02 AM A*****: bahot raat ho chuki hai

padmini bhi hai kya?

me: haan 2 baje hain

kya main tumhe kuch bata sakti hoon

?

2:03 AM A*****: ji

2:04 AM me: nahi tum vishwas nahi karoge

A*****: umm

bolo

me: aur shayad mera mazak bhi banoge

fine

A*****: nahin banaunga mazaak

2:05 AM me: so that makes u like the first person i am telling this after my dadi

she told me to not tell anyone

and to forget about it

A*****: umhmm

me: abhi tumne bola ki bhaut raat ho chuki hai

maine ghadi dekhi

2 bajke 2 minute hue the

2:06 AM A*****: uhuh

me: tumhe isme kuch ajeeb lagta hai kya

A*****: nahin

roz bajte hain 2:02am

most nights mein apni aankhon se dekhta hoon

me: since the time that i was 4 years old

2:07 AM actually let me start from the shuruaat

my father died when i was 4

A*****: oh..i'm sorry

me: my mausi called us from the hospital, my mother was inconsolable

A*****: uhuh

me: that very second i remember looking at the clock

2:08 AM and it said 1:01 (pm ... he died in the afternoon)

then every time

every single time that i have ever looked at the clock or my wrist watch or any other frwakingwatch in the world

it has been

2:09 AM 1:01 or 2:02 or 3:03 or 4:04 or 5:05 or 6:06 or 7:7

A*****: oh

me: it can be any time

A*****: i'll admit...that is rather strange

me: any freaking time at all

and i do not wear a wrist watch becaus eof that

it freake dme out as a kid

2:10 AM A*****: i can imagine

me: when u said bahut raat ho chuki hai... i knew it exactly what time it would be

every time

i finshed eveyr one of my exam papers at 11:11

A*****: weird

me: wihtout fail... revision and all

2:11 AM why do u think that is... my mother tells me to forget about it

A*****: umm

here's a thought

is it possible

since you noticed that bit of time

as an event

2:12 AM thus whenever you look at a watch and the time IS in that format

you DO notice it

and whenever you've just looked at a clock and the time is in any other format... it doesn't kinda..register

know what i mean?

me: no

because

2:13 AM i saw a shrink for this when i was 10

i almost had a nervous breakdown

and the shrink said dont look at watches dont worry about time

and now i am all grown up

i see time

i need to right?

and if its around 7

A*****: yes

2:14 AM me: and someone asks me what time it is

i say its 7:07

and it is

every day

every night

every moment i know the time

i am not haunted or anything

2:15 AM and i dont even dream of my father all that much anymore... but its just creepy right

A*****: its very odd

me: i wish all the clocks would die

i hate clocks

A*****: can i ask you something though?

me: shoot

A*****: this is a phenomena i admit

but why...scary one?

why bad?

2:16 AM me: because for every minute of the last 21 years of my life i know what time is it A*****... i dont need to look at a watch

i know

and whenver i am asked it is in pairs like i gave examples of

A*****: and most people....would say that's a surprisingly...good thing?

me: it is not

2:17 AM A*****: why not

me: it is strange and it gave me bad dreams, i dreamt of bad things and i knew the time.

i know in my sleep exactly when i am going to be woken up

2:18 AM i cant dream in peace

anyway

hope u dont tell people

it sucks

u wont undersand

A*****: am not telling anyone

and i'm thinking...it is very strange...very weird...very odd..

me: i know i know

A*****: but i'm also thinking..

me: my mum knows

my dadi knew

my sister knows

A*****: that by now maybe it's scary...because it got attached to fear somehow?

2:19 AM me: evern my brother doesnt know

2:22 AM A*****: kyun darr hai

anvita?

me: bolo

darr toh kuch nahi hai...

bas ek ajeeb si baat hoti hai aksar yeh waqt ko lekat

2:25 AM A*****: thats easy to see

it can become kinda...freaky

2:27 AM me: i know

2:28 AM but i have learned to live with it

A*****: but its an interesting freaky

2:29 AM me: hmmm

2:30 AM tumhare saath hota toh kya karte

saari zindagi

har ek pal

aur ghadi dehko toh jaise mazak bana rahi toh tumhara

2:31 AM A*****: dont know...really

2:32 AM its like one of those things I'd probably just keep believing its a coincidence every time it'd happen

because supernatural explanations don't comfort me

2:33 AM me: yeah some conincidence 21 years in a row...

not supernatural

just unexplained?

A*****: well its not natural!

2:34 AM natural is that one doesn't TIME their glances towards a clock

me: no but sometimes things happen outside of our understanding

they are not wrong or false just that we dont understand them - my dadi gave me this bull

i still get freaked out

2:35 AM A*****: i dunno...maybe your internal body clock is much more precise than you give it credit for

and by now it's finely attuned to this kinda timing

1:01, 2:02, 3:03, 4:04, 5:05...etc.

me: it is not

dude

A*****: body clocks ARE pretty precise actually

me: come one

they just be

2:36 AM but it isnt in my case

how do i know what time i will be woken up

A*****: coz you're expecting to wake up at that time

and your body clock accepts it as the wake up time

me: and dude please beleive me

i know it

A*****: it turns your expectation into proposition

2:37 AM me: i have lived it

A*****: i believe you..that's why i'm trying to find explanations

me: i dont believe in supernatural

maybe

it is around

but i dont believe in it... but its unusual... fortget we ever spoke of this,,, lets of somethig else

2:38 AM A*****: but why could it not be a very strangely precise body clock thing?

me: it is not

A*****: i count on that for waking up in the morning

but just about that

2:39 AM each morning i'm up exactly 5 minutes before the alarm goes off

me: ok... i dont need to look at a clock jackass,,,

ever]

A*****: umm

me: how do u explain i can tell time when other peole ask me the time

A*****: body clock really doesn't sync up to actual "Clock" outside of the body you know

its just your internal sense of time

2:40 AM me: hmmmm

bolte raho

2:41 AM shayad tum sahi ho

i should contact guiness book of record

s

accha yeh bolo

rather batao

2:42 AM ki tumne jab waqt ka zikar kiya toh 2:02 min kyon ho rahe the? log hamesha 3:03 ya 11:011 pe wqat ka zikra kyon karte hain mere samne...

2:43 AM A*****: hmmm

THAT is def odd

me: accha jaane de please

2:44 AM ab doobaara baat nahi karenge iske baare mien,,, muhje man kiya toh tumhe baata diya

even padmini doesnt know all of it

2:46 AM A*****: ok

thank you.

A Certain Lady - Dorothy Parker

A Certain Lady

Oh, I can smile for you, and tilt my head,
And drink your rushing words with eager lips,
And paint my mouth for you a fragrant red,
And trace your brows with tutored finger-tips.
When you rehearse your list of loves to me,
Oh, I can laugh and marvel, rapturous-eyed.
And you laugh back, nor can you ever see
The thousand little deaths my heart has died.
And you believe, so well I know my part,
That I am gay as morning, light as snow,
And all the straining things within my heart
You'll never know.

Oh, I can laugh and listen, when we meet,
And you bring tales of fresh adventurings, --
Of ladies delicately indiscreet,
Of lingering hands, and gently whispered things.
And you are pleased with me, and strive anew
To sing me sagas of your late delights.
Thus do you want me -- marveling, gay, and true,
Nor do you see my staring eyes of nights.
And when, in search of novelty, you stray,
Oh, I can kiss you blithely as you go ....
And what goes on, my love, while you're away,
You'll never know।

Comment

Oh, life is a glorious cycle of song,
A medley of extemporanea;
And love is a thing that can never go wrong;
And I am Marie of Roumania।

Love Song

My own dear love, he is strong and bold
And he cares not what comes after.
His words ring sweet as a chime of gold,
And his eyes are lit with laughter.
He is jubilant as a flag unfurled --
Oh, a girl, she'd not forget him.
My own dear love, he is all my world, --
And I wish I'd never met him.

My love, he's mad, and my love, he's fleet,
And a wild young wood-thing bore him!
The ways are fair to his roaming feet,
And the skies are sunlit for him.
As sharply sweet to my heart he seems
As the fragrance of acacia.
My own dear love, he is all my dreams, --
And I wish he were in Asia.

My love runs by like a day in June,
And he makes no friends of sorrows.
He'll tread his galloping rigadoon
In the pathway of the morrows.
He'll live his days where the sunbeams start,
Nor could storm or wind uproot him.
My own dear love, he is all my heart, --
And I wish somebody'd shoot him.

Worm

nobody loves me

nobody cares
i feel like eating wormsthin long stringy ones
fat round juicy ones
see how they wriggle and squirm

i bite off their heads
and shlurpp
up their juice
and throw their skins away
no body cares how i survive
on worms three times a day

PERHAPS VAMPIRES IS A BIT STRONG BUT

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L8m1gGv-u8o

Well I've seen your eyes as they FIX on me
What is he doing? What on earth's the plan? Has he got one?
You'd better give me some pointers
Since you are the big rocket launcher and I'm just the shotgun

Well I ain't got no dollar signs in my eyes
That might be a surprise but it's true
That I'm not like you and I don't want your advice
Or your praise or to move in the ways you do
And I never will

Cause all you people are vampires
And all your stories are stale
And though you pretend to stand by us
I know you're certain we'll fail

Well I've seen your eyes as they FIX on me
Full of confusion
Your snarl is just so condescending
Try to explain that we're onto a win
If THE FEE WE GET IN
Near recoups what we're spending

He says, I can't believe that you drove all that way
Well how much did they pay ya? How much did they pay ya?
You'd've been better to stay round our way
Thinking 'bout things but not actually doing THE THINGS

Cause all you people are vampires
And all your stories are stale
And though you pretend to stand by us
I know you're certain we'll fail

Cause all you people are vampires
And all your stories are stale
And though you pretend to stand by us
I know you're certain we'll fail

All you people are vampires

Masters Of War - Bob Dylan

Come you masters of war
You that build all the guns
You that build the death planes
You that build the big bombs
You that hide behind walls
You that hide behind desks
I just want you to know
I can see through your masks

You that never done nothin'
But build to destroy
You play with my world
Like it's your little toy
You put a gun in my hand
And you hide from my eyes
And you turn and run farther
When the fast bullets fly

Like Judas of old
You lie and deceive
A world war can be won
You want me to believe
But I see through your eyes
And I see through your brain
Like I see through the water
That runs down my drain

You fasten the triggers
For the others to fire
Then you set back and watch
When the death count gets higher
You hide in your mansion
As young people's blood
Flows out of their bodies
And is buried in the mud

You've thrown the worst fear
That can ever be hurled
Fear to bring children
Into the world
For threatening my baby
Unborn and unnamed
You ain't worth the blood
That runs in your veins

How much do I know
To talk out of turn
You might say that I'm young
You might say I'm unlearned
But there's one thing I know
Though I'm younger than you
Even Jesus would never
Forgive what you do

Let me ask you one question
Is your money that good
Will it buy you forgiveness
Do you think that it could
I think you will find
When your death takes its toll
All the money you made
Will never buy back your soul

And I hope that you die
And your death'll come soon
I will follow your casket
In the pale afternoon
And I'll watch while you're lowered
Down to your deathbed
And I'll stand o'er your grave
'Til I'm sure that you're dead

HATE ME - Blue October

Song: Hate Me
Artist: Blue October

Lyrics:

[message on voicemail:] Hi Justin! This is your mother. I was just calling to see how you were doing. You sounded really uptight last night, it made me a little nervous. I just want to make sure you are really okay and wanted to see if you were checking in on your medication too. You know I love ya. See ya! Bye Bye!

I have to block out thoughts of you so I don't lose my head
They crawl in like a cockroach leaving babies in my bed
Dropping little reels of tape to remind me that I'm alone
Playing movies in my head that make a porno feel like home
There's a burning in my pride, a nervous bleeding in my brain
An ounce of peace is all I want for you. will you never call again?
And will you never say that you love me just to put it in my face?
And will you never try to reach me? it is I that wanted space

Hate me today
Hate me tomorrow
Hate me so you can finally see what's good for you

I'm sober now for 3 whole months it's one accomplishment that you helped me with
The one thing that always tore us apart is the one thing I won't touch again
In my sick way I want to thank you for holding my head up late at night
While I was busy waging wars on myself, you were trying to stop the fight
You never doubted my warped opinions on things like suicidal hate
You made me compliment myself when it was way too hard to take
So I'll drive so f***ing far away that I never cross your mind
And do whatever it takes in your heart to leave me behind

Hate me today
Hate me tomorrow
Hate me for all the things I didn't do for you

Hate me in ways
Yeah ways hard to swallow
Hate me so you can finally see what's good for you

And with a sad heart I say bye to you and wave
Kicking shadows on the street for every mistake that I had made
And like a baby boy I never was a man
Until I saw your blue eyes cry and I held your face in my hand
And then I fell down yelling "Make it go away!"
Just make a smile come back and shine just like it used to be
And then she whispered "How can you do this to me?"

Hate me today
Hate me tomorrow
Hate me for all the things I didn't do for you

Hate me in ways
Yeah ways hard to swallow
Hate me so you can finally see what's good for you

RUBY TUESDAY

RUBY TUESDAY

She would never say where she came from
Yesterday dont matter if its gone
While the sun is bright
Or in the darkest night
No one knows
She comes and goes

Goodbye, ruby tuesday
Who could hang a name on you?
When you change with every new day
Still Im gonna miss you...

Dont question why she needs to be so free
Shell tell you its the only way to be
She just cant be chained
To a life where nothings gained
And nothings lost
At such a cost

Theres no time to lose, I heard her say
Catch your dreams before they slip away
Dying all the time
Lose your dreams
And you will lose your mind.
Aint life unkind?

Goodbye, ruby tuesday
Who could hang a name on you?
When you change with every new day
Still Im gonna miss you...

A SHORT FILM CAN TAKE YOU A LONG WAY

SEND IN YOUR SHORT FILMS TO US AND WE'LL GIVE IT A PLATFORM!

Hi

It is said that there is potential for one book and one film in each one of us. There are people who have not known that there is a writer or director in them, till the time they actually wielded a pen or a camera with the intention of creating something they believe in. It is our endeavour to find such unknown talents from this country when it comes to films.

Palador has been at the forefront of the World Cinema movement in this country. For over three years now, and at the cost of millions of rupees (and countless relationships gone wrong), we have build up a base of World Cinema in India, owning the largest collection of foreign language films in Asia (close to 750 titles). It is time to show these movies to the discerning viewer in India. However, the effort would be futile, if that did not involve film makers with the potential to make those movies in this country.

For all we, or you, know, you might be the next big thing in World Cinema. But all big things have short beginnings. Have you made a short film you think is really good, in terms of story, cinematography, idea, treatment etc.? Do you believe that it has the potential to be seen in one breath alongside the works of the giants of World Cinema? If you do, then send us your short film, and if it convinces us as well, we will program it alongside the works of master directors. We will then give it the rightful place in the Indie Corner section in the DVDs of world cinema films we are releasing in this country. And what's more, you'll also stand to gain some revenue from the same, though not enough to make you rich… yet ;).

Forward this mail to friends, colleagues and family… someone you think has done some good short film. Not only them, but to the lovers of good cinema in India, you might end up doing a great favour.

Think about it, a short film can take you a long way.

Mail to anvita@paladorpictures.com if you are serious about it.

Regards,

ANVITA T.

Because my mouth

Is wide with laughter

And my throat

Is deep with song,

You do not think

I suffer after

I have held my pain

So long?

Because my mouth

Is wide with laughter,

You do not hear

My inner cry?

Because my feet

Are gay with dancing,

You do not know

I die?

STRANGE DAYS- DOORS

Strange days have found us
Strange days have tracked us down
Theyre going to destroy
Our casual joys
We shall go on playing
Or find a new town

Yeah!

Strange eyes fill strange rooms
Voices will signal their tired end
The hostess is grinning
Her guests sleep from sinning
Hear me talk of sin
And you know this is it

Yeah!

Strange days have found us
And through their strange hours
We linger alone
Bodies confused
Memories misused
As we run from the day
To a strange night of stone

Another perspective...

...heard a better one?

Kalia naag
dwaapar mein hi
amreeka migrate kar gaye
aur khol baithe
Coke aur Pepsi naam se
do dukaan…

Kalyug mein lagey
duniya bhar mein bechney
apna samaan...

Kahin botal mein
toh kaheen cans mein
ek nashey saa
ghul chalaa
zahreeli gas
aur shakkar kaa
paani mein
uthta hua unmaad prem jwaar…

Kitnaa bhi manaa
karein daaktar,
bhalaa bachhey
bhi maanaa kartey hainge
baDon ki sunkar?

Aur Sachin Shahrukh
Kareena ki sunenge
Ya aapki??!!
Unkey aagey naa chali
kisi ke baap ki…

Kaliyaa khush…
ab batlaao
Kishan maharaaj
tum kabhi gandhi
kabhi Mandela aur
Martin Luther King
bankar
in firangiyon ko
sunaaogey
Bhagvad Geeta
ka chakkar?

Mama Kamsa inka
nanha sa
munna sa
masoom sa
poorvaj tha

Kitney nadaan ho tum
usse markar
khud ko
khuda samajh baithey

Mujhe bhagakar
Radha par lota paani lekar
chardh baithe!!!

Ab meri khoob chalti
hai yahaan
khoob baandha hai
gopiyon ne samaa

Tumney diya tha
vardaan
so kabhi
maharshi to kabhi bankar
bhagwaan
kabhi Atlanta to kabhi Oregon
khoob kartaa hoon tumharey
bakwaas ka bakhaan…

Itnaa baDaa hai
inke paap ki fehrist
kaa naap
ki kai Mahabharat
gyan dete reh jaayenge aap

Aur abhi kal hi
ki baat hai
merey products mein
zahar ki maatra kuchh
baRdh si gayee
tum toh jaantey ho
dhande mein yeh koi
bhalaa baat hai nayi?

So saara maal
Mahim ke paikhaanon mein
diya daal
aur socha saara paap tumharey
sir mardh kar
mukhya mantri ban
bhaashan doonga

kisi manch par chardhkar
kahoonga prakritik aapda hai
jissey nibatney ko hum hain
kab se tayyaar
aakhir humein jantaaa se jo hai pyaar…

Lekin dekho toh hindustaniyon kaa khel !
Kattar Hindu mandirwaadi
aur lashkar ke aatankiyon mein
fauran ho gayaa mel!!

Meetha ho gayaa hai
samudra kaa jal,
tumharey karishmon ke kya kehney
tum ab samudra mein bankar jal
Mumbaikaron ke bankar hal
lagey ho Mahim ke gutter mein bahne!!
Dhanya ho tum…Allah ho akbar!

Aur Khushi se jhoom uthey hain
Siddhi vinayaayak
agar Mahim kaa garal ban saktaa hai jal
to kyon naa dhoodh peeyein wo
Kya hua agar karordon bachhon ko
nahin hai doodh naseeb
Mahim creek to hai bilkul nazdeek
Ek nadee see bhi bahti hai wahaan
dekho to vidambnaa
ya yoon kahein kaal kaa
yaani tumharaa hi khel
naam hai nadee kaa Mitthi…
baardh mein bhi kal
jismein beh rahee thee laashein
mootra aur mal !!!

BaRe prem se diyaa tha tumney
mujhe desh nikaala...
par dekar mujhhey abhishapt jeevan se mukti
lautaa kar mera swabhimaan
arey madhavkantji
aap mere sar per chardh kar naache
phir bhar diyaa mujhmein vish...

Yugon tak chalega ye khel
kaun kisko nikaaltaa hai
kaun kar saktaa hai tai

Tumhein khushfahmi ki
tum ho savera

Mujhe koi gurez nahin
bankar naapaak raaton ka andheraa

Kaliya hoon main
koi saadhaaran saanp nahin
mere kuchley huye
sahasra phunon ka
har kshan denaa hai hisaab…

Avtaar bankar kabhi kabhi aaooge,
aur mere moh se iss qaynaat ko
bachaaogey?

Kitney nadaan ho tum balgopal
maraa karein duryodhan dusaashan
agar tum pavitra savera ho
aur chalaa kartey ho daal daal
chalta hoon paat paat main bhi
bankar kamsin randee si raat

Waqt hain hum, bhai
main Kaliya hoon
tum Krishna
agar hum mil jaatey
to inn goron par raaj kar paatey...
par hum to satya
aur asatya bankar
aadhyatam kaa bakhaan kartey hain
ek haath se daan detey hain
doosrey se rishwat letey hain

Chalo chhordo bahut kos liya tumko
sir par chardh kar mere
naachey jo thay tum
bhagwaan ho jaankar bhi
ek adnaa se saanp ko jeet kar
khushi manaana theek nahin...

Shaam ko ghar aao
sunahree Scotch piyenge
kaali Coke yaa pepsi nahin
tai karenge raasta aagey kaa

Jaan lo ki jab aadhi duniya jaagegi
to aadhee hi soyegi

Naag hoon main Kanha
Kalia Naag...
dansh meri pravritti hai,
dansh meri prakriti hai
dansh mujhmein hai tumhara hi ansh…
to kyon nahin saath jeete...

Tum Krishnaang sukarmavaadi
main kaliya naag
paryaay kukarmon kaa...
kaaley to hum donon hain
phir bair kaisa
aapas mein baant lenge
tumhaara hi dikhayaa huaa karmaphal
in goron ko akrmanya banaa kar
sabhyata ke koordey daan mein daalkar
aao naa wo waqt laayein
jismein naa ujaala ho daag daag
naa raaton kaa koi kamsin jashna

kisi firangi rudheevadee
sangeen ke darr se
tham jaaye…
